JANUARY 2, 2019
I just completed my morning meditation. I feel like a bear coming out of a long winter hibernation. It has been many winters now, and Summers and Springs and Falls that I have gathered the food of my spiritual awakening. I found the food in many teachers and many moving living lessons. I was fed by teachers, and books that were written by spiritual guides and teachers. I was fed by nature, and by life’s beautiful and challenging moments. I was fed by dreams, and by writing, and by teaching.
Today unlike yesterday I did not use Baroque music for my meditation. Today I used a meditation lecture from Sai Maa. I sat in my front window meditation space and I made a decision to listen to Sai Maa for my meditation. Her lecture was a teaching meditation. I did something that I have never done before. I am doing many things I have never done before. For example instead of keyboarding this living lesson I am using the dictation quality on the Word program, therefore the process is new and alive. What did I do differently today in my meditation? I turned on the visualizer in the iTunes drop-down menu. I assume other devices allow you to visualize what you are listening to. Since this audio had moments of stillness, no talking, I could ‘see’ the change in energy, and I could ‘see’ the energy of the words of her high teachings. Very cool. No, it didn’t distract me, but I suppose it could if you were sloppy in the meditation.
Consider this. Your focal point during meditation is usually something that has worked for you in the past, it may be a chakra, it may be music, or it may be yantra. It may be a yantra, a static visualization symbol. Ahhh but take a look at the living, moving visualization that allows you to visualize what you are listening to. It might be music that you love to listen to so that you can move into higher vibration, and now you are adding a living, moving energy that is visual. You are engaging multi-sensory energies as you move into meditation. I did not keep my eyes open most of the time. When I did open my eyes I looked first at the nature outside my window, then down at my laptop computer screen which is a 45° angle from my eyes. For those of you who don’t know many traditional meditation teachers suggest that you leave your eyes slightly open and look at a 45° angle.
So my second New Year’s resolution came to me just now. Rather than use the old paradigm and the old systems and the old structures that used to work I will allow the light to guide me. So through the lens of feminine divine, of mother earth, mother ocean, I will discover my new resolution, day by day. I am FREE to discover today’s lessons.
This is what I discovered today. By changing up my meditation, by letting the light guide me as the new paradigm unfolds, I am participating in life differently. The waiting for WHAT IS NEXT is over. The complacency is gone. The bear has come out of the cave. Yes, the wait is over and life is here, now.
